It is your responsibility to decide what you
would like done to your carpet. There are some factors that determine what
DWP does with your carpet. We do the work that each piece requires for the
best quality application, to give your piece longevity. Obviously, every
carpet is different. Some pieces REQUIRE certain needs, while others do
not. Below are examples of options you have and variables to contend with
when giving price quotes for all binding jobs.
There are OPTIONS and there are
VARIABLES:
Options:
What kind of application would you like to put on your carpet?
| |
Your choices: |
| |
* 1.25 inch
polyester binding
* 1.25 inch cotton binding
* cotton serging yarn
* cotton sisal/wide-bordered binding
* fringe
|
Do you have a piece with an existing application?
If your piece is already bound or serged, DWP will try to match the
existing application as closely as possible. Often times we get close
enough for there to be no noticeable difference. Sometimes our material
won’t match the existing application.
| |
Your choices: |
| |
* Have DWP match your existing serging as closely as possible.
* Have all sides fabricated for symmetry and the best aesthetics.
|
If you can live with a minor
mismatch in the application, having all sides fabricated is not necessary,
in this type of situation it is to your discretion what you’d like to do
with your piece of carpet!
Variables:
*Is your carpet thick? This requires
power beveling.
When thick carpets come in to DWP we have to power bevel them to get the
best results. Power Beveling is when we trim the carpet fibers at a 45
degree angle. We do this to get the best grab on the carpet backing and it
guarantees the best stitching for optimal quality!
*Is your carpet woven goods?
This requires a latex application.
DWP uses latex on most woven goods
at the perimeter of where we’ll be cutting. Latex creates a rubber-like
finish that stabilizes your carpet & prevents your piece from unraveling
when cut.
* Is your piece square?
Many times there are carpet remnants
left-over from an install job. That’s great! However, you shouldn’t make
the mistake of assuming the carpet is square, just because it is cut.
Often times carpets are out of square from the onset of them being
ordered. For the best aesthetic results, have your piece trimmed to insure
that it is square prior to being fabricated.
